Workshop Highlights on Basics of Research Methodology for Postgraduate Students

A week-long intensive workshop on the Basics of Research Methodology was conducted from August 10 to 16, 2026, to strengthen the research skills and academic capacity of postgraduate students. The training provided participants with practical knowledge and structured guidance on the key stages involved in planning, conducting, and presenting quality research.

Throughout the workshop, participants explored important areas including research problem identification, literature review, formulation of research questions and objectives, study design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, research ethics, and basic data analysis. Interactive sessions and practical activities enabled students to apply these concepts to their own areas of academic interest.

The workshop also emphasized the importance of developing clear, feasible, and academically sound research proposals. Participants received guidance on organizing proposal components, selecting appropriate methodologies, reviewing existing evidence, and ensuring that research objectives are aligned with the proposed study design.

By the end of the program, postgraduate students were better equipped to critically evaluate research literature, develop well-defined research questions, select appropriate research methods, and prepare structured research proposals. The workshop served as a valuable platform for building confidence and fostering a stronger culture of evidence-based academic research among postgraduate students.
